St. Ignatius of Loyola/San Ignacio de Loyola

Saint Ignatius of Loyola was a Spanish theologian and after a spiritual conversion during his convalescence from wounds sustained in battle, he determined to emulate Christ as closely as possible, and began a life of extreme asceticism and prayer. The result was the Spiritual Exercises, a guide to meditation and prayer which is still used by Catholics and Protestants today to enhance their spirituality.
